RIGHT TO KNOW RIGHT TO EDUCATION PROJECT

The goal of Right to Know Right to Education Project is to enable poor children obtain fair access to quality basic education and thereby acquire the means to help get themselves out of poverty through active participation of parents in making policy decisions in schools, and meaningful and effective participation of civil society organizations in formulating education policies and the education budget at national level.

ZCEA particularly seeks the active participation of poor and female parents in decision making in school policy matters that affect both the environment and the quality of education for learners, the enshrining of the right of access to information in law or at least the adoption of the principles of access to information in social and economic policies and meaningful involvement of civil society in national policy and budget making.

The project employs awareness raising, lobbying, training, research, advocacy, coalition building, media campaigns, analysis of the education budget and tracking expenditure, community mobilisation, and development of information education and communication materials as strategies.
